One of my most favorite gemstones is turquoise. With all the ranges in color and knowing how it is formed in the earth always amazes me. The stone reminds me of the sea and summertime. This particular turquoise came from the #8 mine. The Number Eight (Number 8 or #8) turquoise mine is located in Eureka County (north of Carlin) Nevada, was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929. At present, the mine is closed to turquoise mining; it is mined today for gold. The mine produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever discovered.
Eye catching yet very comfortable to wear. Charged with love and made entirely by me in my Northern California studio using 20 gauge sterling sheet, sterling square wire to form the edges, crushed #8 turquoise and I added little bits of silver dust/grinds mixed into epoxy resin to give it a little bit of extra glimmer. Hand stamped with my makers mark and 925 for authenticity. This is the perfect treat for Yourself or the best present for someone You care about!
